“Tanners can do less with suede leather than with smooth leather. Yet there are still countless variations: waxed, greased, wrinkled, with long fibres, close-cropped, hunting, stencilled, washed, and all kinds of combinations thereof. Hundreds of tanners offer suede leather. It’s a real skill to find the best one, both in terms of quality and aesthetics. This suede is my absolute favourite of all the basic variations. After the tanning process, the leather is lightly waxed and then lightly washed. The effect is a slightly more adventurous and seasoned suede than the standard classic suede leather. Strolling around a materials fair for days and then feeling love at first sight upon seeing a lightly waxed suede leather… that’s the life of a shoemaker. Apart from that, these are of course the ultimate “it’s all good, summer never ends, carefree”-shoes. They look great with shorts as well! Simply put on sneaker socks and you’re good to go!”
