“We executed this classic following the golden standard”
Floris about this item:
“In the canon of classic shoe styles, you could place this lace model between the slightly more informal derby closure and the more formal ‘double monk’. For this model, we executed this classic following the golden standard. No creative excesses, but with respect for the rich shoe history of the Western world. All we added was a little blue tag on the heel. Inside our company, we refer to this model simply as ‘lace’ shoe, or slightly more elaborate, a ‘lace Molière’. There are however many more names for this exact model: In the UK, they call it an ‘Oxford’, because of its popularity at Oxford university around the 1800s. In France, it’s referred to as a ‘Richelieu’, while the Americans call it a ‘Balmoral’.”
