Floris about this item:

“This is a brand new line for this winter season. We’ve been particularly busy with the edge of the sole. We wanted to give the shoe a wintery look by finishing it with a high sole edge along the sides. Our technical colleagues from the product development department were less enthusiastic about it though… It’s much easier to just let that edge be part of the stitching of the shoe’s upper. That way you can just stitch it together like all the other pieces of leather and you’re done. But… it just doesn’t look as cool as the ‘detour’ that we designers came up with. By making the edge an integral part of the sole, it looks much fuller and more authentic. The edge doesn’t disappear underneath the foot, but merges with the sole. I’m afraid you’ve lost the thread of my story by now… But that doesn’t matter. What matters is that these are boots that we got upset about a few times, but now we are all quite proud of the result.”
