"These are works of art. The basic material has a blue metallic effect. The tanner has applied an additional brush layer in a slightly darker shade. When the leather arrives in our factory it looks darker, and without the metallic effect that is visible in the shoe. Just before we fit the sole underneath the shoe, with the upper tight around the last, it is thoroughly brushed with a cloth ring. The friction and the warmth of the brush makes the final colour and the metallic effect emerge. The advantage of this polishing method is that it allows us to create nuances in the leather. A beautifully polished toe and heel, shadow edges at the seams and a lovely deep, transparent colour. In addition, this shoe is made according to the Goodyear workmanship, a very complicated technique that goes back centuries and which only a few dozen factories in Europe have mastered."
